Introduction: We long to “fit in.”  It is in our nature to want to be accepted.  However, we must ask ourselves with whom should we fit in?  And by whom do we wish to be accepted?  (God or the World?)

I. A Grand Plan (Jeremiah 29:11)

  A. Having been freed from darkness we are to be illuminated with the light of Christ

    1. This is to be shared not hidden

    2. We are called to reveal a marked difference

  B. Jesus calls all types (Mark 3:13-14)

    1. He sees the potential in us beyond the scope of what we can see

    2. He chose imperfect instruments…then worked to perfect them

II. Called & Appointed (1 Peter 2:9)

  A. We are given the privilege of being children of God (royalty)

    1. We are to flaunt this wealth (tongue in cheek)

    2. There is something special for others to see

    3. The idea behind this is to draw the lost to saving grace

  B. Many (all) are called (Matthew 22:14)

    1. Success lies within our faith in His ability to work through us

    2. He calls us to something greater than ourselves

SOP: “Workers for Christ are never to think, much less to speak, of failure in their work. The Lord Jesus is our efficiency in all things; His Spirit is to be our inspiration; and as we place ourselves in His hands, to be channels of light, our means of doing good will never be exhausted. We may draw upon His fullness, and receive of that grace which has no limit.”
