Introduction: “Holding Patterns…God knows best”

I. First things first (Matthew 28:16-17)

  A. Proper Instruction

    1. Jesus operated with specific order

    2. He gave instructions that the task be executed according to God’s plan

      a. Are we faithful to the instruction?

      b. Can we improve on God’s plan/method?

  B. There were those who “doubted”

    1. Jesus was/is patient, yet deliberate with His people

      a. He knows we are children of dust and need a lot of help

      b. In spite of our inabilities (supposed or real) He can empower us to fulfill the mission He’s called us to

    2. The “waiting” time (whether long or short) is used of Jesus for our benefit (avoid dangers, etc)

II. Waiting Leads to Soaring (Isaiah 40:31)

  A. New heights reached

    1. There is a reason that God’s word uses this illustration

    2. Eagles are strong, majestic, graceful, agile

  B. God’s way always leads to success

    1. We need His trifecta for success (Revelation 12:11)

    2. We will not fail by doing things “His Way”

    3. You can’t improve on God…period

SOP: Christ’s method alone will give true success in reaching the people. The Saviour mingled with men as one who desired their good. He showed His sympathy for them, ministered to their needs, and won their confidence. Then He bade them, “Follow Me.” (MH 143.3)
